Swan Scholarship
About Swan Scholarship
Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority, Inc. is a Latina oriented organization founded in 1991 at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. In 1993, Gamma Phi Omega expanded to the University of Illinois at Chicago, since our establishment, we have committed ourselves to empower and support women through their academic endeavors and life-long dreams. We are passionate about our number one founding goal, academic excellence, and we believe in the power of scholarship and mentorship. This organization was created to unite all Latinas who are on the same journey towards higher education and provide them with the resources and support necessary to succeed. It has been our dream to create a scholarship for a deserving student in financial need. It is with great honor that we present our dream come true.
The scholarship is a $1,000, one time use, award given to a Latina student designed to cover tuition and fees. All female students are welcome to apply regardless of residential status. This is a two part scholarship, evenly distributed between the Fall and Spring semesters.
